An experienced guide leads your group into the furthest corners of the underground canal system. As you wander in semi-darkness along covered canals, moats and locks, the medieval vaults reveal their secrets step by step.

Especially for schools, we have put together an exciting curriculum. The school visits consist of an exclusively elaborated underground and above-ground visit with an experienced guide.
Thanks to an informative exhibition , students gain insight into the "underbelly" of the city. History & urban development, ecology & economics, biology, architecture, stories and myths.... it's all covered during this school visit!
After confirmation of the visit, an educational package is sent via e-mail. Based on these materials, a visit to The Ruien can be included in the curriculum.
€315 for a group of up to 15 people, accompanied by a professional guide. For larger groups, the price is automatically calculated when you enter the quantities when ordering. If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact us.
For safety reasons, a maximum of 15 participants can accompany each guide.
Per time slot we can have up to 45 participants divided into 3 guides. Each group leaves at 15-minute intervals.
You can book a guided day visit from Tuesday to Sunday, at 10.15 a.m., 1.30 p.m. or 2.30 p.m. Reservations can be made up to 21 days before the visit.
Rather go a bit later? For a small extra charge, you can also do this walk as a nocturne after closing time.

Anyone from 10 years onwards who is up for a tough and sometimes muddy walk of +/- 1.6 km.
The visit starts at the Ruihuis, Suikerrui 21, 2000 Antwerp, and ends at the Stadsmagazijn, Keistraat 5, 2000 Antwerp.
Before descending to The Ruien , visitors are given protective pants, boots and a backpack to store shoes and other personal items during the hike. No belongings can be left on site.
It is possible to have a guide for your group in Dutch, English, German or French. Please state the desired language clearly during the reservation process.
