Young people too can learn a lot from a visit to the Antwerp Ruien. That's why we offer them the opportunity to discover this important piece of hidden history for themselves in a unique way.
The city of Antwerp will carry out long-term works at the location where the school visits take place. So after June 2023 these visits will no longer be possible. When we know the date when the school visits can start again you will read it here.
We have put together an interesting educational package especially for schools. The school visits consist of an exclusive underground visit to the "Chapel" with an experienced guide.
The pupils gain insight into the "underbelly" of the city thanks to an informative exhibition . History & urban development, ecology & economy, biology, architecture, stories and myths... it's all there!
After confirmation of the visit, an educational package is sent via e-mail. Based on these materials, a visit to The Ruien can be included in the curriculum.
€5 per pupil.
€50 per guide with max. 25 participants (pupils + accompanying adults).

The guided school visits start at the anchor on St. Paulusplaats, Antwerp. The guide(s) wait for the group there and take them to the Ruien entrance in the Stadsmagazijn, Keistraat 5, Antwerp, where the underground visit starts. The visit ends at Keistraat 5, Antwerp.
A safe footbridge allows the pupils tovisit this part of The Ruien in a dry and clean environment. It is best not to bring a backpack that is too big, as it has to be carried at all times.
