01/08 International Beer Day

We'll drink to that!

Beer has been brewed in Antwerp since the 13th century. During Antwerp's golden sixteenth century, urbanist Gilbert Van Schoonbeke built new breweries around the Waterhuis and nearby Brouwersvliet. We put that centuries-long connection between The Ruien and local brewers into extra focus on International Beer Day: in collaboration with the Antwerp Brewing Company, we offer all tablet walkers (16+*) a glass of Seef beer at the end of the walk. Seef is the very oldest Antwerp city beer. It is still brewed according to the original recipe. So you're not only taking a historical walk, you're also tasting a piece of history!
